7. Database Administrator (JOB ID - TKL 01426)

Job Summary

The Database Administrator should have a broad level of experience in organizing information into database structures and your primary activities will include maintaining an efficient and robust server environment with the Taksheel Statistics to include procurement, recommendations, installation, configuration, administration and maintenance of dedicated servers.

Essential Responsibilities:

	Overseeing and working hands-on in database design and maintenance of relational databases and our dimensional data warehouse.
	Working with a variety of relational databases.
	Acting as a key member of our technical consulting team; determining the direction of future IT developments.
	Develop high performance relational databases to store content, user personalization information, and billing/tracking data, etc. Develop and implement maintenance and administration procedures for the database systems.
	Ensures that backups are performed regularly on all databases.Work closely with software engineers to develop and maintain stored procedures, compiled SQL, etc.
	Ensure that database systems are adequately monitored. Develop and implement a plan to ensure maximum reliability and availability of database systems.

Qualifications -- Education and/or Experience:

	Bachelors in computers degree or Master of Information a master's degree in computer science or an equivalent degree required.
	Extensive experience with regular expressions, data parsing and cleaning tools, SQL schema design, Postgre SQL stored procedures, and database normalization required.
	Experience writing stored procedures and queries for SQL databases and Strong working knowledge of SQL.
	Strong scripting skills in PHP and or shell.
	Must have strong knowledge of data relationships, data normalization.
	Proficiency with PC applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Windows.
